Constantine C Galoosis

1933-2017

Gus Galoosis, age 83, was surrounded by his wife and children when he peacefully passed away from pulmonary complications on February 13, 2017.  He was a resident of Niceville, Florida since 2003.  Gus was born on April 30, 1933 to Constantine and Gladys Galoosis in Brooklyn, New York.  Gus proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a Communications Specialist for 22 years.  He earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education and taught high school math and vocational education for 15 years in the Delta, Ohio School System, retiring in 1994. 

In 1955, Gus married RoseMary Woods, a fellow Airman, and they traveled the world sharing an AF career that brought them great joy and adventure.  His son, Constantine III and daughter, ChristieAnn are blessed with the love and caring of a father that poured his heart and wisdom out to them.  He is survived by RoseMary, Constantine III, Chris, devoted son-in-law Paul LaPorta, and precious granddaughter Amanda Rose LaPorta.  He will join his comrades in arms at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.  In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to a charity of your choice may be made.
