Eugene Herbert Ferguson, Jr.

1938-2017

Eugene Herbert Ferguson, Jr., age 79, of Niceville, FL, passed away December 1, 2017.  He was born July 27, 1938 in Minden, LA to the late Eugene H. Sr. and Violet Moselle Baugh Ferguson.

Eugene was a graduate of Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, MD.  He then went into the U.S. Army until 1961, where he trained to be a Paratrooper.  After his military service, he worked as a semi-truck driver, a Country Club/Restaurant manager, and a school bus driver for Okaloosa County.  His proudest occupation was when he worked as a Civil servant for the David Taylor Naval station in Virginia. 

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Amvets.  He enjoyed cooking and telling NUMEROUS  jokes, most of which people laughed at…, no matter how many times they heard them.

He married Donna “Jackie” Gantt in 1960 and had two sons, Eugene “Joey” Vincent, who is deceased and Shawn, who now lives Gaithersburg, MD.

He married Patricia in 1970 and adopted her two daughters, Lisa Nellis who is married to Charles and lives in Mebane, NC and Jill Easton of Cumming, GA.  He has 4 grandchildren, Thomas Drake, Michael Drake, Emma Drake and Samuel Easton.  His wife, Patricia and he were married until she passed in 2009.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated with no services to follow.  Please remember him in your own way.
