James H. Starrett, Sr., SMSGT USAF (RET); passed away peacefully in the company of his family on Oct 1st, 2017. 
He is survived by: his wife of 20 years; Mary Jon Starrett of Valparaiso, his son, James H. Starrett, Jr, grandchildren: Jason Starrett (Kathryn) and Jessica Arnold, great grandchildren: Alexander, Zachary, Jade Starrett, Ily Starrett and Alora Arnold. He is also survived by his wife's children who he cared for dearly: Douglas Laffin (Jen), Sherry Laffin, James Laffin (Cindy) and granddaughter Tiffani Roberts.
James was preceded in death by his first wife Nelle and their daughter Jan.
James proudly served his country for 26 years in the Army Air Corps and United States Air Force, serving during: World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
The funeral will be held at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home in Niceville with visitation at 1:00pm and the service at 2:00pm, with interment to follow immediately at Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso.
