Destin, Florida – John Edward Croom, 65, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 31, 2018. He was surrounded at the time by those he loved.

He was so happy to be the husband of Ray Ward and was the best Dad to his three sons, who always knew how much he loved them. He was an amazing father-in-law and the proudest GPa to his two grandsons. He loved his Mother and embraced his role as a stepdad.

Of his many talents, his greatest gift was his ability to love. He encouraged others to stay true to themselves and always saw the good in people. He lit up every place he visited and lived every moment with purpose, believing life was precious.

He loved the arts, and his passion for travel took him all over, allowing him to share his life with so many. He wanted to help others and make them feel special. Through his work as a pastor, artist, and friend, he impacted countless lives. He was less concerned with accomplishments and cared mostly about the heart. His was the biggest of all.

John, showed glimpses of Christ in his smile and his laugh, through his compassion, and the joyful way in which he lived life. He believed his family was his greatest accomplishment. They want him to know he did well. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on every day through all those who loved him. Heaven just became even better.
