Robin A Prokosch

Robin Andrea Prokosch, age 61, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Robin was born in Newburgh, New York on July 23, 1955 to Thurl and Barbara (Clarke) Merritt. She graduated from Cornwall Central High School, Syracuse University (undergraduate), and SUNY Oswego (masters).  Robin had a lifelong passion for helping and sharing knowledge with others, which naturally led her to become a teacher. For more than three decades, Robin shared her passion with students from a variety of age groups, faiths, needs, and circumstances, touching many lives for the better. Robin’s passion for helping others was not limited to people - she spent many years rescuing dogs, cats, and the occasional bird or reptile. Outside of work, Robin loved art, nature, and beauty, spending much of her free time in these pursuits.  Although pre-deceased by her parents, Robin leaves behind her loving daughter Marjorie Prokosch; brothers Craig Merritt and Glenn Merritt (wife Debbie); nephews Matthew and Kyle Merritt; ex-husband Alan “Chris” Prokosch; companion Keith Benge; and many former colleagues and students.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
