Brad Allen Burnette, son of the late John Thomas (JT) Burnette and Billie Annette Brown Burnette, went to heaven to be with Jesus on February 28, 2023, at the age of 54.
Brad was born in Niceville, Florida, and was proud that he was a native Boggy boy. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Gerrianne Schwartz Burnette, his five children: Brandon and Austin Burnette, Andrew, Claire, and Grace Burnette, his sister, Beth Burnette Hagan (Chris), as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins, and so, so many friends.
Brad was a deeply devoted and passionate family man. He had his “family” family – he absolutely adored his wife and children and was incredibly proud of each of them. He was a daddy, a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew, an uncle, and a friend to many. He had his Autism family – he was the President of the nonprofit Autism Spectrum on the Emerald Coast, Inc. and was a fierce advocate of the special needs community. The young adults and families of his EMERGE group were held close in his heart. He had his baseball family – he was the President of Niceville Challenger League District 1 and enjoyed every minute of being “Coach Brad” to the many children and young adults he pitched to on the field. And he had his Nick’s family – he worked with pride alongside Trey, Jennifer, Joey and so many others at Nick’s Seafood Restaurant in Basin Bayou.
Brad was preceded in death by his dad, JT Burnette, his mom, Billie Brown Burnette, and his grandparents, Jesse Brown, Ruby Helms Brown, Charles Galyon Burnette, Ruby Velma Franklin, and Hubert H. Blakely. A memorial service for Brad will be held at First Baptist Church on Bayshore, in Niceville, FL on Wednesday, March 8. Visitation will begin at 10:00 and the Celebration of Life will start at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to support his children.
