It is with great sorrow that we announce the Lord has called home Caitlin (Catie) Sue Collins, loving daughter and sister. She passed away on Friday, March 27th at the age of 21 in Orlando, Florida.
Catie was born on November 26th, 1998 on Thanksgiving Day in Pensacola, Florida to John and Mary Collins. She graduated from Collegiate High School in Niceville, Florida and received her AA Degree in Forensic Pathology from Northwest Florida State College in May of 2017. She was a student at the University of Central Florida. She was to graduate with her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in May of 2021. She was an active club member of The Fencing Knights at UCF and enjoyed spending time with her friends from the club.
Catie was a talented artist with passion for drawing and painting. Her loves in life were her sister Melanie, dog Skittles, penguins, UCF and friends. Catie was a beautiful and sweet soul and touched many lives. She was known for her politeness and kind and gentle ways.
She is survived by her twin sister Melanie, her parents, John and Mary, her Uncle Timothy and Aunt Jennifer Mastromonico, Cousin Eric, Cousin Michael, Uncle Michael Collins, Aunt Tara Meekma, Cousin Benjamin, Cousin Darby, Uncle William (Jerrod) Letchworth, Grandparents Peggy and John Collins and Frances Sirmans and Great-Grandmother Mary Letchworth. Catie was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Letchworth.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening at 5:00 PM April 8th at the McLauglin Twin Cities Funeral Home, 1405 E. John Sims Pkwy, Niceville, Florida for family and close friends. A private family graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9th at the Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Florida at 1:00 PM.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date when conditions permit.
