Sadly, we need to report that David Ketter passed away on Sunday, August 29th of natural causes.  David was born at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on September 19, 1964.  He was the beloved son of Harry and Nancy Ketter and the brother of Darrin and Debbie Ketter Root.  David is survived by his wife Ratana Ketter and his two children, Brandon and Dylan Ketter, as well as his stepchildren, Desiree Duerr and Michelle Baarda.  David was also a grandfather to 4 grandchildren: Talon, Brooklyn, Braxton-David Ketter, and Helena Duerr.  David graduated from Grace Baptist School in 1983 and later joined the United States Air Force in 1985.  David honorably served in the Air Force until he retired in 2005.  

David has recently retired from the private sector and had moved with Ratana to Niceville, Florida in March of 2021.  David greatly enjoyed the outdoors and living by the ocean where he could walk to the waterfront and fish from the jet ski.  David was a devout Christian and found solace and comfort in his Weekly Bible study with his family and friends.  

The memorial services will be held at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home at 1405 E. John Sims Parkway, Niceville, Florida 32578.  The date will be September 3, 2021, friends and family are welcome at 10:00 am, funeral service is at 11:00 am Central Standard time.   There will be a military funeral procession to honor David’s service to our nation the following week on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 10:00 am, where he will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.
