Dr. John Newton Bogart

Colonel (Retired) John Newton Bogart, M.D., age 81, of Niceville, Florida passed on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Dr. Bogart was born March 11, 1939 in Forrest City, Arkansas and was the son of Clarence Nall Bogart, M.D. and Dorothy Dean Duvall Bogart, both of whom preceded him in death.
He married Jewell Joanne Burns in 1961. He was a career Army Officer, serving for 34 years. Dr. Bogart graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1963 and was board certified in general and plastic surgery.
He is survived by two sons, Clarance Nall Bogart of Woodbridge, VA and John Newton Bogart Jr. of San Antonio., TX. He has one brother Forest Bogart and three grandchildren Kristi, Zachary and Joshua.
He also has one great granddaughter on the way.
Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
