Joyce Marie Clifton

Joyce Clifton, 79, of Mossyhead FL passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 20, 2023. Joyce was on October 10, 1944 to Benjamin Franklin Baggett and Martha Jurek in Victoria, TX. After leaving school she married her husband Jerry Clifton Sr and followed him to Kansas, England, and then Nebraska as an Air Force wife. Together they had three sons and ended up settling at Englin Airforce Base in Niceville FL.

Joyce worked for the Okaloosa county school board at Cherokee Elementary for several years before transferring to Niceville High School for several more years as a custodian. After retiring and moving to Mossyhead in 1998 Joyce spent her new found free time raising 2 of her grandchildren, fishing, drinking coffee and caring for 3 dogs along with 2 cats who she loved and spoiled.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Clifton Sr., her parents Benjamin Franklin Baggett and Martha Baggett, sister Ruby Weber, grandson Thomas Allen Clifton Jr., and daughter-in-law Dawn Clifton. 

She is survived by her 3 sons; Jerry Clifton Jr., Thomas Clifton Sr., and Michael Clifton (Kristin Clifton), 6 grandchildren Dillion Clifton, Shania Clifton, Chase Clifton, Montana Clifton, Shelby Clifton, and Paisley Clifton along with 3 great grandchildren Carter Clifton, Kayonna Clifton, and Noah Clifton

A visitation will be held Friday November 10, 2023 at 2pm with a memorial service at 3pm at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home 1405 E. John Sims Pkwy Niceville FL 32578
