Tribute

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather Kerney Ward Saxon lll, age 68 of Niceville, Florida, passed away on October 21, 2018.

Ward was born in Jackson, Mississippi on October 28, 1949, to the late Kerney Ward Saxon, Jr. and Flora Sinclair.

After graduating from Choctawhatchee High School in 1968, Ward attended the University of Alabama, where he met the love of his life, Celeste Spruiell; was a member of Phi Kappa Psi; and received a degree in Accounting in 1973. He later became a Certified Public Accountant practicing in Birmingham, AL, Vero Beach, FL, New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Niceville, FL. While living in New Smyrna, he derived great joy from coaching Pop Warner football and was a member of the Rotary Club. He continued his participation with the Rotary Club after moving to Niceville.

A lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide fan, his favorite way to spend a Saturday was watching Alabama win a football game surrounded by his wife and children. On his last day with us he enjoyed watching Bama win again.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Celeste; sons Will and John; daughter Katy Weaver (Joe) and granddaughter Clarity; and faithful companion, the Buddy Dog. He is also survived by his sister Beth and his mother Flora.

Special thanks to the staff of Northwest Florida Rehabilitation Institute, especially nurse Brianne, who made his last days comfortable. Thanks also to Dr. Pat Tidwell and staff for their years of care, as well as to Twin Cities Hospital.

The family requests donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in lieu of flowers or other considerations.
