Laurece “Duke” Madden, age 100, of Niceville, FL, passed away on June 29, 2021. She was born to Ernest David Bryant and Annie Cook on July 12, 1920 in Escambia Farms, FL.
Laurece spent 28 years with the Okaloosa County School District as a lunchroom worker, classroom assistant, and bus aide. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Ralph Madden, her parents, her sons, Ralph David Madden (Buddy) and Wendell Young (John), and her daughter, Barbara Joan Madden.
She is survived by her children Sue (Hughie) Gay, Donnie (Bonnie) Madden, Brenda Kaye Brazwell, Beverly Jo (Donnie) Foster, Linda McCormick, and Mary (Louie) Mullins; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on July 2 at 10:00 AM at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Wright Cemetery in Wright, FL immediately following the service.
Flowers will be received by the family or donations made to the Cystinosis Research Foundation or the Cancer Society.
