Loretta "Gail" West

Loretta “Gail” West, age 87, a long-time resident of Niceville, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2023.  After marrying her high school sweetheart, she moved with him to different base assignments in the U.S. Air Force, all the while, raising the family.  When the family moved to Niceville, she began her business, Gail‘s Hairstyles, which she operated well into the 90s. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, gardening, volunteering at church, and was an avid reader. More recently, she enjoyed watching old westerns on TV.  Mrs. West was an excellent cook!  While she specialized in Southern cuisine, she often experimented with the dishes from places they were stationed, like the Philippines. 

Mrs. West is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Greg Hubbard.  She is survived by her loving husband, Johnathin Edward “Ed” West; son, Gary West; daughter, Beth Hubbard; granddaughter, Rachel Hubbard; and a host of family, neighbors, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 10:30am at Heritage Gardens Cemetery, in Niceville.  Lt. Col. Al Stearns officiating.
