Lynda Jeanne Bartek

Lynda Jeanne Bartek, age 65, of Destin, Florida passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022.

She was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Harold Lewis and Wylene Peck Bateman. Lynda will always be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and dear friend. When her children were younger, she was an avid volunteer for their sports and activities. She was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher and youth group leader at Destin United Methodist Church. After her children grew up, she found a love for the California coast and enjoyed being a docent for the National Park Service. In her professional life, she held a doctor of nursing practice degree from Florida State University. Lynda is pre-deceased by her brother Harold Lewis, Jr. (Buddy) and beloved grandmother, Alberta Watson. She is survived by her children Rachel Bartek Morrison (Chris), Alycia Bartek Massey (Garrett), Joseph (Joey) Bartek (Bethany), her sisters, Kimberly Hutchison (Joe) and Ashley Cotton (Rick). She was proud of and adored her 5 grandchildren, known as the “Fab 5” Nick, Alex, Jack, Cooper and Emmy. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Destin United Methodist Church. Family will receive visitors at 10:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM graveside at 1:15 at Gulf Cemetery in Santa Rosa Beach.
