Margaret (Munoz) Cowell

Margarita (Margaret) Cowell, age 92, of Niceville, FL passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. She was born on May 25, 1927 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Manuel C. Munoz and Amparo Negron Munoz.  She moved to New York, NY at the age of seven.  Margarita married Clarence (Casey) Elwood Cowell on February 14, 1954 in Ambler, PA.  and traveled with the military. Margarita was very involved in the Girl Scouts of America as a Scout leader in the 60’s. In the mid 70’s, she took on a career as a dental assistant where she used her skills on several mission trips which included Costa Rica.  She became a Gold Star Wife after Casey’s passing in 2005. He was a disabled veteran.  Margarita was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, friend and community volunteer, which included the Bargain Box and Supper on Saturday.  She was a resident of the Twin Cities area for over 40 years.  She was a member of Crosspoint United Methodist Church where her wisdom, guidance and spirit touched many lives in the community.  Margarita is proceeded in death by her Mother, Father, Husband of 51 years, 5 Siblings, Son Curt (Karen), and granddaughter Stephanie. She is survived by her Sister Lydia; Daughter Jaynee (John); Grandchildren: Clayton (Tamara), Joseph (Brittani,) Ryan (Kaitlyn), and Daniel; Great Grandchildren: Maciella, Kalesi, and Brayden; and numerous nieces and nephews. For anyone whose life was touched by this wonderful woman, the viewing will be on Friday, August 16, 2019 at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home in Niceville between the hours of 5PM and 7PM.  Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 2:30PM at Crosspoint United Methodist Church of Niceville.  A reception will follow, after a procession to Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso.
