Rachel passed away peacefully at her home in Midway, Ga with family by her side.
Born in Woodstock, Ga on August, 29, 1936 to John and Lillie Tumlin Butterworth. She lived in Canton Georgia until 1970 when she moved to Niceville Florida. She enjoyed attending Generation One and North Bay Baptist churches. She loved her family, friends, neighbors and her spa buddies.
Rachel is remembered as a kind, generous and sweet natured soul. She battled Alzheimer's but remained a sweetheart until the end. Rachel was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Calvin Pope, her children, Denise Hooks and Kenny Williams, whom she adored. Also, predeceased by her 7 siblings.
Rachel is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Teresa (Russ) Stigall; son-in-law Jim Hooks; grandchildren Ryan Hooks (Brooke), Jamie Miller (Seth), Brittany Dilmore (Josh), and Dustin Stigall; great grandchildren Mikaiah, Khloe, Kaydence, and Kensley; step-children Diane Bryant, Cheryl McKenzie (Mike), and Lori Yeager; step-grandchildren Stacie, Melissa, and Jamie; step great grandchild Meghan. Rachel had a special relationship with her nephew Troy, his wife Darlene, and their children, Brianne and Amanda. Thank you to GHC. The Hospice nurses are truly angels on earth.
