Ronald Leon Boisjolie was born September 30, 1934 in Connecticut and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Ronald moved to Florida in 1965 and retired from the United States Air Force in 1974. He was employed by U.S. Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base for 15 years, retiring in 2000.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hormedadous and Agnes Etta Boisvert Boisjolie and wife, Joan Johana Biondine Boisjolie and his extended family, Ray and Janie Tomes, whom he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Lawrence Boisjolie; sons, Scott (Jimmie), Darren (Lisa); step-sons, Joseph Lawrence (Mary) and Patrick Lawrence (Marcia); step-daughter, Judith Kendall (John); 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Frances “Tootie” Goodwin (Phil) and Georgetta Malloy.
Ronald was a member of long standing in the Joseph B. Franzalia Lodge 2422, Sons of Italy and served on the Council for many years as well as being chief pasta chef. Currently he was a member of the Richard A. Capozzola Lodge 2865 in Crestview. He was also a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. In recent years, Ron and his wife Karen, loved to travel, vacationing often on cruise ships, seeking BBQ festivals and visiting family. Ronald was an avid Boston Red Socks fan and could always be seen wearing his Boston baseball cap.
A memorial service will be held at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, 1405 John Sims Parkway E, Niceville, FL on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 6 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 99 Eglin Parkway NE, #37, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32549.
