Rose Marie Bolton

May 18, 1929 ~ August 29, 2021 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Tribute

Our beloved Rosie, age 92 (1929-2021) left this earth on August 29, 2021, to join Ken, her husband of 63 years, one year and five days after his passing.  Rosie (as most called her, or Biddy, as Ken called her) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on May 18, 1929.

Rosie is survived by her three sons, Kenny (wife Sharon), Keith (wife Carol), and Kerry (wife Lisa.)  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Freddy Zangaro, sister-in-law, Susie Sloan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Pittsburgh.

Rosie, the oldest of seven siblings is predeceased by her mother and father, all of her siblings, as well as grandson, Travis Davis.

Rosie grew up in Pittsburgh down the street from the Heinz Ketchup factory.  You better not serve anything but Heinz Ketchup!  She was the life of the party anywhere she went.

She joined the United States Air Force as a young lady where she met her handsome platoon leader, Ken Bolton.  Ken and Rosie married on December 13, 1956 and were married until his death on August 24, 2020.  They shared 63 wonderful years together.  They were long-term residents of Valparaiso, where they raised their family.

Rosie retired from Civil Service after 24 years.  After that, she took a job with the Okaloosa County Airport where she worked for over 20 years, eventually retiring at the age of 90.  She was the little spunky redhead in the ticket booth in the parking area.

Rosie was a Trustee of Elks Lodge #2747 in Valparaiso.  Rosie was also a member of AmVets Post #78 in Valparaiso, as well as American Legion Post #221 in Niceville.  Rosie supported our veterans through tireless visits to the local nursing homes providing comfort bags to the veterans, along with her best friend, Lorraine.
