Mrs. Ruby Jean Johnson, age 65, of Freeport, FL went home to Jesus on April 5, 2022.

She was born to Kelly C. Young and Ruth Bonham on October 16, 1956, in Rockledge, FL.  Ruby Jean is remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1974 and completed many academic college courses throughout her life. Her main passion was cooking and feeding people. She entered the U.S. Air Force in 1981 and served 4 years of active duty as an Administrative Specialist at MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL, and 2 years of reserve duty at Charleston AFB, Charleston, SC as a Flight line tech. Ruby’s final career path led her to become an Admin Assistant in the Florida Probation and Parole Department and Admin Support in the Denver Children’s Hospital. During her career, Ruby received many awards and honors but, she never let them change her love for helping people. All who knew her will miss her.

Ruby Jean is predeceased by her birth parents, and rearing parents; aunt & uncle, Grady and Geneva Moody, (whom she called her real Dad and Mom), and sisters; Mary Patricia Stark, Precious Richardson, and Silvia Young.

She is survived by her husband, Carvin Johnson Jr; her children, Nikki J. Sebenial and Staci N. Schultz; grandchildren; RJ and Raechyll Foster, and Alanah, David, and Olivia Schultz; a sister; Abbie G. Gipson; and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 22 at 10:00 AM at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.

Interment will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL following the service. All going to the gravesite are asked to meet up at the rally point at the Naval Base.

Flowers will be received by the family or donations may be made to your favorite charity in Ruby Jean Johnson’s name. However, Flowers and donations are not needed but are appreciated. Your being a part of her life is all Ruby Jean ever wanted and needed from you. She truly loved you all.
