Sheila Delphine (Port) Foerster

1936-2017

            Sheila Delphine Foerster, 80, faded peacefully from this world in her home in Bluewater Bay, Florida, on June 18, 2017.  She was born to John Henry Port and Pearl Ena Beatrice (Hoole) Port July 23, 1936, in Oare, Kent, England.

            Sheila, who devoted her life to her husband, an Air Force officer, established family homes in 14 locations in the United States and overseas.  She was known widely throughout every community in which she lived as that lovable English lady who brought kindness, warmth, caring, joy, and lots of good laughs wherever she went.  Known simply as “Sheila” by most, she will be remembered forever by all those whose lives she touched.

            She is survived by her adoring husband of 46 years, Robert Y. Foerster; daughter Janet L. Sickle and husband Adam, daughter Leslie S. Presby and husband Charles, step-daughter Katrina A. Varela; three granddaughters— Leah, Katie, and Alina; four grandsons— Sean, Dylan, Jared and Michael;  and five great grandchildren— Mariah, Mark, TJ, Amelia and Aliyah.

            She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Pearl Port; her son, Mark A. Larkin; brothers John A. Port and Quentin D. Port; and sister Yvonne V. (Port) Becker.

            Sheila’s funeral service was held on June 30, 2017, at the United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel.  She was laid to rest at the Air Force Academy Cemetery following the graveside Committal Service.
