Vonceil Cook

Mrs. Vonceil Cook, age 92, a longtime resident of Niceville, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.  Mrs. Cook, one of eight children, was born in Panama City, Florida. 

Early in her life she and her sister worked at the Friewall Theater.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, playing games like canasta, frying mullet and playing Bingo.  Mrs. Cook was dedicated to her faith in Christ and lived her faith daily.  She read her Bible daily—completing it multiple times over!  A devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother, she cherished every moment with family—those close and those far away.  Her quick wit and sense of humor always kept everyone laughing! 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell Aldrich and Adell Aldrich Adams; her husband, Garfield Cook; and her sisters, Jean Walker, Carol Aldrich, and Sue Donovan.  She is survived by her children, Marilyn (Pat) Brooks, Rocky (Gwen) Cook, and Runae (Paul) Whittlesy; sisters, Annell Lee, Linda (Bobby) Patrick, Mar-shan (Charles) Smith, and Betty Jo (Richard) Batchelor; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a large host of family, loved ones, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm at McLaughlin Twin Cities Funeral Home, in Niceville.  The family will receive friends for visitation thirty minutes prior to the service.  Mrs. Cook will be interred beside her loving husband in Rocky Memorial Cemetery.
