On Friday, May 8th, 2020 Wendell "Buddy" Jay Young loving husband and father, of Mossy Head Florida, passed away at age 66.
Buddy was born on October 3rd, 1953 in Valparaiso, Florida to HR Young and Ruby Singleton. He served in the United States Army from 1974 to 1977. Earning an Honorable Discharge. He went on to work in the offshore fishing industry for 28 years. Mainly working with the Hicks Family out of Niceville Florida where he affectionately earned the nickname Hippie. He went on to become a journeyman millwright. Retiring full time in 2015.
Buddy was preceded in death by his Father HR Young and Mother Ruby Singleton.
Buddy is survived by his wife Cynthia D Campbell of Mossy Head, Florida. Son Mitchell Jay Young of Ozark, AL. Daughter Kassie Nicole Young of Ponce De Leon, Florida. Granddaughter Gracie Lynn Young of Freeport, Florida. Grandsons Hunter Jay Young of Freeport, Florida, David Logan Hopper of Ponce De Leon, Florida, Davian Leeroy Hopper of Ponce De Leon, Florida, Dawson Levi Hopper of Ponce De Leon, Florida. Brother Roger Fetterhoff and wife Robin of Milton, Florida. Sister Brenda Kay Braswell and husband Levi of Baker, Florida.
Honorary pallbearers will be life long friends, Steve Smiddy, Dewayne Worley, Harry Salter, Glen King, Andy Hall, Larry Nicholson, Jimmy Hicks, Terry Godwin, Eddie Godwin, and Larry Hicks.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
